"The Past Two Weeks"
Whew! We've had a ca-rrrazy two weeks! (To all of you English teachers out there, I know it's really "crazy...") But, like I said, we really have had a ca-rrrrrrazzzy two weeks!!!
We started out at Grace Christian Fellowship in Dalton for their Mother's Day service. I was so blessed to have my mom, mom-in-law & grandmom-in-law there with me. What was really cool was that Chanler's mommy was there as well...my beautiful wife Christina. It was great to be in service with Pastors, Michael Redwine & Ron Sowder. Pastor Michael, (my uncle!), preached about a Godly mother in the bible, Hannah. It was a message of Hope & God's redeeming love.
Thank you all at GCF, we had a wonderful day!
Also for the past month, I've been rehearsing with the Trailblazers. I've played piano for these guys for a couple of years now. We always have a blast! It's a great honor for me to get to play along with my dad. Also, these guys influenced me so much when I was growing up. When I was very young, I used to listen to an old cassette of the Gospel Trailblazers. It was recorded in the 70's at my dad's little studio. In fact, I listened so much that I literally wore it out! (My dad had to make me another copy!) Anyway, the summer always gets busy for the Trailblazers, so we've started rehearsing for this year's concerts.
Last Sunday night a very cool thing happened that I got to be a part of. Pastor Trey Starnes of the Church of God of the Union Assembly, started an old fashioned campmeeting, tent revival. Now when I say old fashioned, I'm talking wood shavings on the ground and folding chairs...the works! And, no tent revival would be complete without those world famous, egg salad sandwiches...Yes they were there! A flood of memories came rushing in as I stepped into the tent. I smelled the sawdust, heard the rustling of the folding chairs...felt the heat. ha! I was a kid again! In fact, Chanler asked me if she could take some woodshavings home to play with...no kidding! I told her I didn't think we'd have a problem carrying some home with us...I think I emptied out a bucket full from my shoes when we got home!
Anyway, let me get back on track here...(You can tell I was in a very nostalgic mood this past week).
So I started out last Sunday Night playing piano for the Trailblazers. Monday night, I was there as a musical guest, playing and singing. Wednesday night, the Trailblazers were there again. I heard wonderful messages from Pastors Trey, Lonnie and Dale Brewer. I saw God working in the lives of so many. Lives and bodies were mended and healed. I witnessed folks giving their heart and lives to Jesus Christ for the very first time! Thanks to Pastor Trey for allowing me to be a part of this great week!
Friday night, Cameron and I performed at the 1890's Day Jamboree. It was a lovely spring evening in beautiful downtown Ringgold, GA. The Jamboree is a music, arts & crafts festival. I've been there many times with Poet Voices, but this is the first time I've been there with my own ministry. We had a good set...Saw lots of friends...Made new ones. It was great to be back at the 1890's Day Jamboree.
I've also been in the studio, working non-stop on a couple of new recordings I hope to have out soon. I'm really excited as to how everything is sounding!
Well, that's just a little description of our last two weeks. God is so good. He continues to open new and exciting doors for our ministry.
Make sure to visit the PHOTOS section to see pictures from the last couple of weeks!
Pray for me as I continue on, telling people about God's Holy Son, Jesus Christ...The Name above all names!
God bless you all until we talk again!
