"Homecoming Sunday in Chattanooga, (5-4-08)"

Hey everybody! I want to take a moment to tell you about the service we had this past Sunday. Christina, Chanler & I got to spend the day with our dear friends Pratt & Marcia Hughes. They invited us up to be a part of their Homecoming Service at the Eastgate Church of God of the Union Assembly where Pratt is the pastor. Just saying that we had a great service would be an understatement. It was truly a special day...let me describe the scene:

It was packed, standing room only...(I'm glad the Fire Marshal was not in attendance!) I was starting to think to myself, "Wow, all these people heard that I was the musical guest and they've come to support me..."
Then cold, hard, reality hit me...I had forgotten three things...They were serving fried chicken, Ms. Evelyn Smith's sweet tea & Marcia's Coco Lopez dessert after the service...ha! I can't even begin to compete with fried chicken! It was an humbling experience...Just kidding!

All jokes aside, Pastor Hughes preached a wonderful message entitled, 'Homecoming'. The highlight of the day was how Pratt handled the invitation. It was beautiful watching God work in the lives of the people that came forward. We were witnessing those coming back to God and those giving their hearts to Jesus for the very first time! We were not only celebrating down here, there was a clebration going on in Heaven! Thank God!

It was also a special day because my brother Cameron played bass guitar with me for the first time. He did an incredible job and is already acting like an old pro. Great job Cam!

It was great seeing so many friends...The Kirk Davis Family, Johnny Crider, Les & Charna Wells, Darrell & Louise Fleming and of course, the whole Chattanooga Church Family. Thanks again to Pastors Pratt Hughes & Jeff Wilson for letting me be a part of their special day.

I'm thankful for the opportunities that God is giving me. I want to be faithful to walk through the doors He opens.
